Living alone has taught him self-discipline, resilience, and gratitude. There were times when exhaustion and loneliness crept in, but art became his refuge. Despite creative blocks and early years of limited recognition, he remained steadfast. His father’s lessons in perseverance and his mentor’s belief in authenticity kept him grounded. “True art,” Debdutta says, “takes time, patience, and faith.”

Dr. Gomes’s journey of devotion and discipline has earned him numerous prestigious national and international awards. Among his notable honors are the Global Achiever Icon Award 2025, International Excellence Award 2025, and an Honorary Doctorate in Art from Magic & Art University, Faridabad. He also received the Lifetime Achievers Award 2025 and the Vande Mataram Award in both 2024 and 2025 for his contribution to Indian art and culture.
In 2020, he was conferred with the International Award for Excellence in Art for spreading messages of love, peace, and cultural pride through his work. His art has been featured in Masterstroke magazine, placing him among India’s great artistic masters.
