The cost of DJ training classes was ₹1,000 per day — an impossible sum for most teens.
Undeterred, Ashim borrowed money to attend a 20-day course, dedicating himself completely to mastering the craft.
He practiced on borrowed equipment, often walking long distances with heavy gear on his shoulders due to lack of transportation funds.
These humble beginnings are a reflection of the grit, resilience, and sacrifices that shaped him into the artist he is today.
The Moment That Changed Everything
While studying Hotel Management, Ashim was assigned to work in a nightclub in Dublin — a seemingly routine assignment that turned out to be life-altering.
There, he witnessed the magnetic pull of live DJ performances, the crowd’s response, and the emotional connection forged through music.
It was in that electric atmosphere that Ashim realized his true calling.
Inspired by the power of sound and the artistry behind the console, he chose to pursue DJing not as a hobby, but as a lifelong path.
Breaking Through the Noise
Ashim’s relentless dedication paid off in 2003 when he participated in the prestigious War of DJs competition, sponsored by Times Music and judged by DJ Akhtar.
Despite limited resources, Ashim trained tirelessly — practicing 12 hours a day and preparing without sleep for two straight nights.
His efforts earned him a 5th-place finish in a fiercely competitive field, officially marking his arrival on the national DJing radar.
From Clubs to Festivals — A Legacy of Performance
Since then, Ashim has performed at some of India’s most premier festivals and iconic venues.
His ability to blend energy with emotion has made him a staple in the EDM circuit.
He has shared the stage with global electronic heavyweights like Ferry Corsten, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Alan Walker, leaving a lasting impression with every performance.
Ashim’s sets are known for their soul — a delicate balance of high-voltage beats and deeply moving musical storytelling.
